She Defrauded Amazon of $9.4 Million and Forged a Federal Judge’s Signature. Now She Faces 16 Years in Prison
Fake invoices, money laundering, and forged court documents led to a lengthy federal sentence for one Georgia woman.
A woman in Atlanta has been sentenced to more than 16 years in federal prison for defrauding and stealing $10 million from Amazon.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia announcedthat Georgia resident Brittany Hudson was found guilty of laundering the fraudulent proceeds, defrauding a franchising company while out on bond, and forging a federal judge’s signature on fake court documents.

“Hudson and her partner engineered a massive fraud scheme against Amazon, stealing nearly $10 million in just a few months,” said U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg in a press release. “Today’s significant sentence, which must be served without the possibility of parole, holds her accountable for her crime spree.”
According to Hertzberg, in 2022, Hudson and her partner Kayricka Wortham, an operations manager at the Amazon warehouse in Smyrna, Georgia, defrauded Amazon out of several millions through a scheme involving fake vendors and invoices.

Wortham and Hudson created dozens of fake vendors in Amazon’s system. They then had the profiles approved and enabled them to submit invoices.

According to the press release, Hudson and Wortham submitted more than 1,000 false invoices claiming that the fake vendor profiles they created had provided goods and services to Amazon.
